A letter from Sigrid to all listeners:

Dear listeners, dear fellow romantics,

Nothing is free in this world. Everything comes at a cost. The price for free content and free social platforms is high. We are now living in a world where anger fills the airwaves and love is mostly a commercial product aimed to give us our fix so that we can be sold other things. 

I have always tried to do differently with this podcast. I did the best I could with what I knew at any point in time while creating it.  I didn’t want to sell your time. I refused to sell what makes you tick, what makes you happy, what keeps you on the edge of your seat. 

But in a world where everything is for sale, taking a stand also comes at a cost. This podcast only survived this long because I invested everything I had. And some listeners were incredibly generous and helped me to keep going, and they also gave everything they could give. 

These stories are a gift. They’re not free. We’re picking up the cost. Because we know many people around the globe cannot afford to openly contribute. They can’t take the risk. Or maybe they’re broke and struggling to survive. We want to be there for them. This gift always was for you and we hope we can continue to offer it. 

But we need your help. We cannot do this without your help. If you are able to contribute without compromising your (financial) safety, please consider doing so today. This podcast feed will no longer publish new work, but there is still great value in the stories that are offered as a gift today. 

Large corporations don’t make money when we thrive as a queer community. They will never have our backs. They will not invest in stories where we are free, healthy, happy or working hard to become free, healthy and happy. That’s why we need to fund our own stories. We cannot afford to keep ignoring the cost.
