Lex held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut. A bead of sweat rolled down her temple. Her head was spinning.

Mary flicked her tongue over the inside of Lex’s thigh, just inches away from where Lex needed it to be.

“What? When?” Lex asked, wiping the sweat off of her face with a corner of the sheets.

Mary arched an eyebrow. Her forehead and cheeks were glistening. “At the gym. At the conference. Probably even at the store!”

Lex’s brow furrowed deeply. “At the store? I wasn’t flirting with you at the store.”

“Maybe not,” Mary teased, “But you did drive me insane.”

She said the last word in a low, husky voice. It sent a new jolt of electricity up Lex’s spine.

“The feeling was mutual,” she replied after taking in a deep breath. She shifted her head on the pillow and smiled. “God, you were so annoying.”

Mary’s chest shook as she laughed. Lex rolled onto her side, enjoying the exquisite view.

“You’re also excruciatingly beautiful,” she admitted softly.
