Against Doctor’s Orders by Radclyffe

Radclyffe Against Doctor's OrdersI don’t know how Radclyffe does it, to be very honest. She has published so many books, and most of them are great.

Against Doctor’s Orders is  no exception. I actually enjoyed it more than most of Radclyffe’s other books. And I have read many.

A classic story of adversaries falling in love
So, the story. Harper Rivers is a family doctor in a small town. Being a doctor is a family trade: her father is head of the local hospital, Argyle Community Hospital.

But then Harper finds out the hospital board has sold her family’s beloved hospital to a super large health care conglomerate. Yikes. Enter Presley Worth, who’s now in town to shut down Argyle Community.

The slow build up kind of book
Needless to say, Harper and Presley do not exactly fall in each other’s arms on the first page. But that’s what I like about this book. The slow build up of tension, flirtation and exploration.

Two strong but very different characters: one community focused and kind, the other a high power corporate b…. with issues. It’s a classic blend to create a lesbian romance book, but Radclyffe has mastered it perfectly.

One of the best of recent Radclyffe books
Against Doctor’s Orders is an entertaining and at times sizzly book. If you like women in white coats and a classic story line in lesbian fiction, then don’t hesitate. This book will make your week.
